The Austrian artist MaLo Magic Blue creates dreamlike, magical-surreal imagery on canvas that reveals a strong connection to nature and a love of life.

MaLo, whose artist name is derived from Mario Lorenz, has been working as a freelance artist in his hometown of Graz since 2012. After completing two studies – law and education – he began to learn acrylic painting autodidactically. MaLo’s passion for individual visual expression was apparent from an early age. In his youth he switched to music – his creative urge now focused on writing and singing his own rock songs until he returned to painting in 2012.

To date, almost 100 acrylic paintings have been created in MaLo’s studio, which have been well received at exhibitions at home and abroad and are sought after in private collections. Independence and originality are evident in the selection of motifs inspired by dreams, emotions and inspirations, as well as in the technique, which the artist continually develops and refines.

Fully developing one’s own potential and putting it in the service of a higher cause – the love of creation full of miracles large and small – is central to the work of the versatile artist. MaLo’s most recent works reflect his commitment to environmental, climate and species protection.
