Alexandra Kordas at the Grenada Pavilion - Venice Biennale 2026
Alexandra Kordas at the Venice Biennale 2026
We are delighted to announce that Alexandra Kordas, an artist represented by Accorsi Arte, is among the selected exhibitors for the Grenada Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia 2026.
The pavilion, titled The Poetics of Correspondence, responds to the overarching theme of Biennale Arte 2026 "In Minor Keys" and will be presented at Spazio Berlendis, Cannaregio 6301/A, Venice, from 9 May to 22 November 2026.
Who is Alexandra Kordas
Alexandra Kordas is a German artist who began her creative journey in 2018, driven by a profound personal experience. Her art is born from a borderland: between heaven and hell, life and death, joy and pain. The recurring motif of the Cross runs through her work as a symbol of confrontation, redemption and damnation.
In a few years she developed an intense and recognisable body of work, encompassing painting, sculpture and installation in various materials and forms. Her work is influenced by current social and political crises as well as spiritual, emotional and intellectual impulses. Her aim is to bring viewers into contact with their own soul and the pain it carries.
Accorsi Arte represents Alexandra Kordas with permanent exhibitions at the galleries in Turin and Venice. Among her solo shows: "Neither Losers Nor Winners" at Accorsi Arte Turin (2023), "Odio la guerra" at Museo Bellini Florence (2023), Galerie Corrado Bortone Paris (2024), Captaloona Art Madrid (2024) and Galleria Vittoria Rome (2024).
The Poetics of Correspondence
The Grenada Pavilion, participating for the ninth time in the Venice Biennale, is curated by Daniele Radini Tedeschi under the direction of Commissioner Susan Mains, appointed by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Creative Economy of Grenada.
"The Poetics of Correspondence" invites visitors to consider the ways in which islands, archipelagos and networks of practice form not only territorial logic but also poetic networks: correspondences of meaning, memory, materiality and language. Through layered installations, time-based works, archival-inspired interventions and collaborative actions, the pavilion explores how Grenada, as a Caribbean island, is simultaneously local, regional and global.
Alongside Alexandra Kordas, the exhibitors include Edward Bowen, Arthur Daniel, Josine Dupont, Lilo Nido and Chris Mast, Jeverson Ramirez, The Holzwege Group and Russell Watson.
